Who are we?

Well "we" is a bit much,  it’s just me.  I’m Matt.  Hello All.

How are you funded?

Generally I use free online services (twitter, etc) so this website hosting is the only real cost.  I’ve got an unrelated 9-5 job so I pay for the website expenses myself. The website will carry adverts which I hope may cover a little of the costs but I’m expecting to be personally out of pocket at the end of all of this.

The End?

I assume that at some point the Tories will be voted out and so this particular website will be redundant, at which point I will probably have to think of something else to moan about.  I hope the time comes when there is something else to moan about.

Why are you doing this?

Why isn’t everyone else?  The Conservatives are killing us with their ideologically driven Austerity policies, quite literally, and posing for photo ops at foodbanks whilst they do it. It’s horrific, an abomination.

I’m not expecting to convince anyone by my sheer intellectual brilliance that they should vote against the Conservatives but I hope that I can add to the general background of anti-tory noise that I hope will overall get loud enough to maybe make a few people think before they put an X on their ballot paper.

So you are against the Tories but who are you for?

I’m not tied to any particular party as I believe in voting on policies first and foremost, but I’ll pragmatically vote tactically if needed or try to help a local independent get their deposit back in a safe seat.  Politically I’m left of centre, how far left depend on where the centre happens to be in any given year.

As a snapshot, I believe in:

  • Free Universal Health Care

  • Free Education

  • Right of self determination

  • Fair progressive taxation

  • Fair pay for fair work

  • Right of workers to enable collective bargaining

  • Constitutional reform

  • Proportional representation

  • Nationalisation of utilities and rail

  • Equality for All

  • Equability of Access for all

I’m worried about:

  • Brexit

  • The Climate and the human caused Ecological Catastrofuck (except for spiders)

  • The rise of far right populism and fascism

  • The Automation of the workforce

  • Spiders

There's not much here!

No not yet, but I'm working on it.  More will follow.
